What is APK?

APK is Android Application Package file. This file is used to install applications on any phone that is running Android OS.

How to Install APK on Android?

Installing APK on your phone is not a big deal. It is very simple if you do it the right way.
First of all you have to change the setting in your phone so that your phone doesn’t block external APKs from installing. You can do it by going to the ‘settings‘ > ‘applications‘ and check ‘Unknown Sources‘. That’s it, now you can install any APK on your device.

Now follow these simple steps to install any APK on your android phone:

You will need an ‘App Installer’ application to complete this task. Here are the links to some famous app installers on Google Play Store.
Update: If you are running Android 4.2 or higher, you don’t need to download the installer. They come with built-in installers.

  1. After you have installed the ‘app installer’, copy the APK file in your phone’s storage or sdcard (Only if you have the APK file in your PC. If you have downloaded the APK file directly to your phone, you don’t need to do this.)
  2.  Browse you phone’s memory and look for the download APK file.
  3. Click on it.
  4. Select ‘Install App’.
  5. Click ‘yes’.
  6. That’s it. You are done installing the APK file on your Android Phone.
